Changing Lives in Papua New Guinea

Ashley Wilkins - Hand of Hope Medical Missions Coordinator

The Hand of Hope Medical/Dental team recently returned from a very successful one week outreach in Papua New Guinea (PNG). This was the second time in the last 2 years our teams have been to PNG. It seemed as if everywhere we stepped foot people knew Joyce Meyer Ministries and they remembered the care we brought to them last year.

PNG is one of the most diverse countries in the world and has over 800 different people groups. One of the great things about this outreach was that it brought together many different tribes and communities as they came to receive medical care. This outreach not only brought medical and dental care to the people of PNG, but through Christ we also brought joy, hope, unity and salvation. We bandaged their wounds, pulled rotting teeth, prescribed life saving medications but most importantly we showed them God’s love by praying with each of the 3,087 patients who came to see us. We thank Him for 492 salvations!

It was evident that what Hand of Hope has done in the past two outreaches has made a lasting impact in the hearts of people of Papua New Guinea, and we give all the glory to our amazing God for using our hands to do His work across the earth. We want to thank our partners for helping to make this outreach a possibility, we couldn’t do it without you!

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.
