Reaching Out a Hand of Hope in Cape Town

Shelly Meyer

During my recent visit to Cape Town, South Africa I was able to visit an outreach program that Hand of Hope works with in Westlake Village. Westlake is a slum area located very close to the Joyce Meyer Ministries office in Cape Town. I was privileged to meet some of the kind elderly residents who we provide with monthly food parcels. This Granny took in this beautiful little boy when he was abandoned by his mother as a newborn. Even in her lack she reached out to someone who needed her. We are able to provide her with food so that she can care not only for herself but for him as well. We are working with the Westlake United Church Trust who have many programs assisting the underprivileged in Westlake Village. Working together we are able to help others who in turn are able to extend help themselves.

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.
