Rescuing, Raising and Rebuilding in Uganda

Shelly Meyer–Hand of Hope International Relations Officer

At the ages of 4 years and 6 months old, these two brothers live at Baby Watoto* in Uganda. Their mother contracted HIV/AIDS and died, and they were left in the care of an elderly uncle who was having a very hard time caring for such young children. Both boys are also HIV+ and the youngest was also severely malnourished. In addition to providing a safe and loving environment to live in, Baby Watoto is also providing intense medical treatment and support to help stabilize their health.

Thank you to our partners for helping Baby Watoto to rescue, raise and rebuild the lives of these children.

*Watoto is a holistic care program which was initiated as a response to the overwhelming number of orphaned and vulnerable children and women in Africa. Orphaned or abandoned babies 0-2 are brought to Baby Watoto and given proper care, medical support, nurtured and provided unconditional love.

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.
