Providing Assistance to the People of Fiji

Tom McKaskill - Director - Joyce Meyer Ministries Australia

The island nation of Fiji, located off the eastern coast of Australia, was recently battered by a cyclone resulting in flooding and major destruction to the area. As flood waters raged across the land, houses were flooded with water, valuable crops were destroyed, and many businesses were washed out to sea. Fiji is in the recovery stage of cleaning up and people are working to begin their lives all over again. Sadly, children are going to school now without food as a result of the cyclone. Hand of Hope is partnering with Citipointe Church in Brisbane to help feed these children. Thank God for the faithful partners that enable us to meet these needs as the people of Fiji work to recover from the devastating effects of the cyclone.

Hand of Hope is the missions arm of Joyce Meyer Ministries. Our goal is simply to help as many hurting people as we possibly can, to alleviate human suffering and to help Christians grow in their faith.

An Unthinkable Decision in Madagascar

The faces of the children in this picture have been blurred to protect their identities

Brad Senekal: Joyce Meyer Ministries South Africa Outreach Director

Making a choice between selling your children to a complete stranger or seeing them starve to death is unimaginable for most of us. Through one of our feeding programs in Madagascar, we recently became aware of a distraught family who faced just such a decision. Out of severe and complete desperation, they made the unthinkable decision to sell their children to someone who offered them a supposedly better life overseas. With tears streaming down their faces their parents explained, "we would rather have seen them somewhere, anywhere else and alive, then to be here with us starving to death. We love them… it was the hardest decision we ever had to make."

Thank God we were able to respond quickly and work with local partners to locate, rescue and reunite these children with their family, only a couple of days before they were due to be shipped overseas for unknown purposes. The children, who were quite malnourished, have joined our feeding program where they will receive good nutritious food, care, education and lots of love. The family has been connected with ongoing local support to prevent them from ever being faced with this decision again. The horror of human trafficking may be far from over, but the success for this family and your continued prayers and support will keep us going to help as many as we can.

Sharing the Love of Christ in the Ukraine

Yura Ruls - Joyce Meyer Ministries Russia Office

Hand of Hope was recently able to partner with The Master’s Foundation by donating books to distribute at a Zbarazhska Women's Prison outreach in the Ukraine. After personal testimonies the outreach team demonstrated how God can set people free from chains that bind them through a powerful drama. At the end of the service each woman heard how precious each one is to God and how they can have a personal relationship with Him. The response was incredible and the outreach ended with each woman receiving a copy of Joyce’s book Tell Them I Love Them.

Please join us in prayer for the women of Zbarazhska Women's Prison, that the seeds planted would grow and bear fruit for the kingdom!
